Maria V. DeVita, M.D., FACP, FASN

Dr. DeVita is a graduate of Georgetown University and Georgetown University School of Medicine.  After her graduation from medical school, she completed both her residency in Internal Medicine and her fellowship in Nephrology at Lenox Hill Hospital. She has stayed on at Lenox Hill Hospital, at first as a dialysis physician, and then as Assistant Chief of Nephrology.  She is presently the Associate Director of the Division of Nephrology at Lenox Hill Hospital, where she also is the Program Director for the Nephrology Fellowship Program.  She holds the title of Clinical Professor of Medicine at the New York University School of Medicine.

She is board certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology.  In addition, she was awarded the title of Specialist in Clinical Hypertension, by the American Society of Hypertension and the title of Fellow of the American society of Nephrology.  She serves on the editorial board of the journal, Clinical Nephrology, and is a reviewer for the American Journal of Kidney Diseases.  Presently, she serves as the President of the Eastern Regional Chapter of the American Society of Hypertension, and is on the Medical Advisory Board of the New York Chapter of the National Kidney Foundation.

Dr. DeVita continues to teach and lecture of various topics in nephrology. Her particular areas of expertise are chronic kidney disease, end stage renal disease, hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis and hypertension.
